X450a-24x belongs to Extreme Summit X450a stackable edge switch family. Compatible with Extreme validated 100BASE-FX / 1000BASE-X SFP transceivers and XGM2 dual 10G SFP+ uplink option card. Managed via local CLI / web GUI. Widely used for enterprise campus, factory automation long-distance fiber access network spare replacement.

Function

X450a-24x is high-density fiber Layer3 stackable access switch. 24 SFP fiber ports provide gigabit fiber links for remote edge equipment; four combo RJ45 ports support copper terminal connection. Optional XGM2 expansion module delivers dual 10G high-speed uplink to aggregation layer. It supports static & dynamic routing, VLAN, STP/RSTP/MSTP, LACP link aggregation, ACL, QoS and multicast protocols. It monitors port link state, optical DDM parameters, system temperature and fan health, and generates hardware fault alarms. Used for enterprise fiber edge access networks.

Installation

Mount the switch on standard 19-inch 1U rack. Connect AC power cord. Insert SFP transceivers and fiber patch cords. Install XGM2 uplink module if needed. Connect console port for initial configuration and stacking setup. Verify boot,port link and routing function before commissioning.

DiagnosticSwitch fails to boot: Check AC power input and power supply health. SFP port no link: Verify SFP transceiver,fiber cable and peer device configuration. Transceiver undetected: Confirm Extreme compatible optical module and correct insertion. Over-temperature alarm: Check fan operation and cabinet ventilation,clean dust buildup. Stack group split: Verify stacking cable and matched ExtremeXOS firmware version. 10G uplink module not detected: Re-seat XGM2 option card firmly.
