System compatibility

Summit X460-48t-48 supports XGM3-2SF, XGM3SB-4SF and other XGM3 series 10G SFP+ expansion modules. Supports SummitStack-V virtual stacking, maximum 8 devices in one stack. Compatible with Extreme original SFP+ transceivers and DAC cables installed on rear XGM3 cards. Supports Layer2 switching and full Layer3 IP routing, SyncE timing function available when using XGM3SB timing option cards.

Function

Summit X460-48t-48 is a 1U rack-mount enterprise high-density gigabit switch for access or aggregation layer. It provides 48 auto-negotiation gigabit RJ45 ports for servers, PCs and wireless AP access. Dual rear expansion slots can install XGM3 series 10G uplink/stacking cards to add high-speed SFP+ interfaces. It supports stacking, advanced QoS, VLAN segmentation, ACL security filtering and multicast control, widely used for campus aggregation, office network and medium-sized data center access layer.

Installation

Mount the switch into standard 19-inch equipment rack. Install power supplies into PSU bays. Connect power cable. Use console cable for initial configuration. Power off the chassis before installing XGM3 rear expansion cards, wear ESD anti-static wrist strap. Install XGM3 module, tighten captive screws, power on and verify port status via ExtremeXOS CLI. Configure SummitStack-V stacking for multi-switch cluster.
