Function

XBR-VDX6740T-2 is 1U high-performance data center top-of-rack leaf switch manufactured by Extreme Networks. It comes with 24 active 10GBASE-T copper ports for server access, 4×40G QSFP+ uplink ports for interconnection to spine switches. VCS fabric merges multiple VDX switches as one logical device, simplifies deployment and maintenance. FlexPort supports FCoE to converge LAN and storage traffic on single network infrastructure. Supports full IPv4/IPv6 routing, DCB lossless ethernet, 802.1X authentication, VLAN segmentation and hardware QoS. Dual redundant hot-swap PSU and fans ensure high availability for critical data center workloads. Installation

Follow ESD protection procedure. Mount switch to standard 19-inch 1U rack. Connect AC power cords to both power supplies. Use Cat6A or Cat7 copper cables for 10GBASE-T server connection. Insert QSFP+ transceivers or breakout cables for uplink. Access serial console port for initial NOS configuration, set VCS fabric, VLAN, routing and QoS policy. Verify fabric formation and port connectivity after power-up. Activate extra PoD license to unlock additional 10G copper ports if required.
