Module Feature

P3F30-CGGGG-DAEFA-BAAAA is Foxboro I/A Series smart pressure transmitter.

It adopts capacitance sensing core technology, supports gauge or differential pressure measurement. The wetted material is stainless steel, suitable for most non-corrosive and weakly corrosive process media. It provides 4-20mA analog signal superimposed with HART digital communication. It supports remote range reconfiguration, sensor trim and fault diagnosis via HART host. It has good vibration resistance and temperature compensation, widely stocked as maintenance spare for petrochemical, power plant and refining process monitoring cabinet.

Working principle

Process pressure acts on the isolation diaphragm and transfers pressure to the capacitance sensing cell.

Capacitance variation is converted into digital signal by internal circuit, compensated for temperature and non-linearity, then converted to 4-20mA analog output and HART digital signal. The transmitter continuously monitors sensor health, over-range condition and electronics power supply status. Measured pressure value, tag information and fault codes can be read by HART configuration tool.

Onboard components

Capacitance sensor cell, isolation diaphragm, main electronic board, local zero/span adjustment button, LCD display, HART communication circuit, weatherproof aluminum housing, process connection thread.

LED indicators

Local LCD display shows pressure value, engineering unit and fault code. Power and fault status indicators are integrated inside electronics housing.

Hardware self‑diagnosis

Built-in supervision detects sensor fault, overpressure, electronics failure, loop current open/short and temperature drift anomaly. Calibration and parameter configuration are finished by Foxboro Field Device Manager or AMS.

Programming software

AMS / Foxboro FDM, used for range setting, unit selection, sensor trim, HART tag configuration and fault log reading.

Installation

Isolate process pressure and loop power before replacement.

Confirm process connection, pressure range and wetted material compatibility, install impulse piping correctly, perform zero trim and loop test after commissioning.

Interface

Process pressure connection, two-wire 4-20mA+HART signal terminal block.

Diagnostic

Low loop current: Power supply insufficient, wire break or electronics fault. Sensor overrange alarm: Process pressure exceeds calibrated range, impulse line block. HART communication lost: Loop resistor missing, cable damage or device address conflict.
