System compatibility
Compatibility description: ERN1331 belongs to HEIDENHAIN ERN1300 encoder family, HTL interface. Compatible with mainstream servo drives supporting HTL incremental signals. Suitable for Fives Giddings & Lewis PIC900 CNC heavy boring mill spindle and servo axis.
Function
Function description: ERN 1331.061-1024 is incremental rotary encoder manufactured by HEIDENHAIN. The 1:10 tapered shaft eliminates the need for extra flexible coupling and reduces mechanical backlash. Reference mark Z pulse is required for axis homing after power-up. Stator coupling absorbs axial and angular mounting deviation. Robust mechanical structure resists workshop vibration and temperature variation. It is high precision rotary measuring spare for heavy CNC boring mills.
Installation
Installation steps: Follow lockout/tagout safety procedure before installation. Cut off encoder DC power. Mount ERN1331 encoder onto tapered spindle shaft and lock friction assembly. Connect shielded encoder cable to servo control unit. Restore power, verify LED indicators, run signal test and spindle homing calibration.
Interface
Interface list: M23 12-pin flange connector, DC power and HTL incremental signal terminals,on-board POWER / SIG / FAULT LED indicators for HEIDENHAIN ERN 1331.061-1024.
Diagnostic
Troubleshooting: No encoder signal: Check 10~30V DC supply, cable breakage or connector pin damage. FAULT LED lit: Low signal amplitude, grating contamination or shaft misalignment. Intermittent position jump: Vibration, loose taper locking or bearing wear.
