Function

Function description: RON285 is incremental angle encoder manufactured by HEIDENHAIN. Hollow through shaft and integrated stator coupling allows direct mounting on rotary table spindle without extra flexible coupling. It delivers high resolution sine/cosine analog signals to interpolation unit for angular position calculation. Rugged metal housing protects optical components from vibration, coolant mist and metal chips. Reference mark pulse required for axis homing after power-up. It is high precision rotary axis position measuring spare for heavy CNC boring mills.

Installation

Installation steps: Follow lockout/tagout safety procedure before installation. Cut off encoder 5VDC power. Install encoder onto rotary hollow shaft, fix axial and radial clamping. Connect shielded encoder signal cable to HEIDENHAIN EXE interpolation unit. Restore power, verify POWER and SIG LED indicators, run encoder diagnostic and check rotary axis position reading.
