Module Feature

V5055C-1109 belongs to Honeywell V5055 industrial gas safety valve series. It is a normally closed 4-inch flanged safety shutoff valve with double seal construction, supports proof-of-closure function when paired with compatible actuators. It is designed for natural gas and LP gas pipeline on-off control on commercial and industrial burners. Equipped with upstream and downstream 1/4 in NPT pressure tap ports with plugs for pressure test. It requires separate fluid power actuator V4055, V4062 or V9055 to drive opening and closing action. Approved for safety shutdown service on combustion systems. Widely used in boiler, furnace and thermal processing burner fuel safety control.

Working principle

The valve stays closed by spring force under normal safe state. When actuator receives opening command, hydraulic power overcomes spring force and lifts valve plug to allow gas flow. Once trip or stop signal triggers, actuator releases pressure, spring pushes plug tight against double seal seat to cut off gas supply rapidly. The proof-of-closure feedback contact can send valve closed status signal back to burner control system.

Onboard components

Valve body, double seal valve seat, spring return plug assembly, flanged connection ends, upstream and downstream pressure tap fittings, valve stem linkage for closure proof switch.

LED indicators

No onboard LED indicators. Status feedback comes from matched actuator and proof-of-closure switch.

Hardware self-diagnosis

Closure proof position feedback detection, gas pressure test via tap ports for seal leakage inspection.

Programming software

No configuration software. Burner management system monitors valve status through safety interlock wiring.

Installation

Shut off gas supply and purge pipeline before installation. Mount Honeywell V5055C-1109 in gas supply pipeline with correct flow direction. Bolt flanges to specification, connect actuator drive and proof-of-closure wiring. Perform leak test on valve seat and joints before burner commissioning.

Interface

4 inch process flange, 1/4"NPT upstream pressure tap, 1/4"NPT downstream pressure tap, actuator mechanical linkage port.

Diagnostic

Leakage through valve: seal seat contamination or damage. No closure feedback: linkage misadjustment or proof switch loose wiring. Valve fails to open: actuator hydraulic supply fault.
