System compatibility

This expander processor hardware belongs to ICS TRIPLEX Trusted SIS safety instrumented system and installs in T8300 expander chassis. It communicates with T8100 main controller chassis via dedicated hot link cable,collects all I/O signals from T84xx modules inside expansion rack and transfers data to main CPU. Widely used in oil & gas,petrochemical and chemical plants for ESD emergency shutdown and fire & gas safety protection.

Function

T8310 serves as high integrity expansion processing unit of Trusted TMR SIS. It adopts HIFT hardware fault tolerant TMR architecture,responsible for local I/O data acquisition and forwarding between main controller and expander rack. It continuously runs comprehensive self-diagnosis to detect internal hardware fault,backplane error and link communication abnormality. Single slice failure will not interrupt system operation.

Installation

Insert T8310 vertically into dual processor slot of T8300 expander rack. Install T8312 expander interface adapter,connect TC-301 hot link cable between main chassis and expander chassis. Check processor operating status and fault information via Trusted Workbench.
