Module Feature

0487E3X611XXXXX43624XXX belongs to Masoneilan 4800E digital valve positioner series.

It is a microprocessor-based electro-pneumatic positioner, accepts 4–20mA control signal superimposed with HART protocol. It supports automatic calibration, zero/span auto-tune, single-acting or double-acting output mode switching. Built-in LCD display for valve position, diagnostic data and alarm status viewing. It has stable pneumatic amplifier module, reverse action configurable, supports partial stroke test PST function, can upload diagnostic information to DCS host. Explosion-proof version is available, widely matched with Masoneilan SVI series and other brand pneumatic control valves for heavy process industries.

Working principle

The positioner receives 4-20mA setpoint signal from DCS, compares it with valve stroke feedback signal.

The controller calculates deviation and adjusts output air pressure to pneumatic actuator until actual valve position matches set value. HART communication channel realizes remote parameter configuration, valve signature test and fault diagnosis. Internal logic monitors supply air pressure, feedback sensor and pneumatic loop status.

Onboard components

Main control PCB, HART communication chip, piezoelectric pilot valve, pneumatic amplifier assembly, contactless position feedback sensor, LCD display panel, pressure sensing circuit, terminal block and explosion-proof housing.

LED indicators

Front LEDs indicate power supply, valve tracking, PST running and fault alarm status.

Hardware self‑diagnosis

Built-in supervision detects air supply loss, feedback sensor failure, signal over-range, internal pilot fault and pneumatic blockage. Fault information can be checked on local LCD or HART host software.

Programming software

Masoneilan Valvue software, used for auto-calibration, PST setup, valve signature recording, HART tag configuration and troubleshooting.

Installation

Install bracket and feedback linkage on valve yoke correctly, keep feedback cam in proper contact range.

Connect instrument air supply, 4-20mA HART signal wiring, run auto-calibration and PST test before commissioning.

Interface

Diagnostic

Valve cannot reach set position: Air supply insufficient, linkage stuck or calibration offset. PST fail alarm: Actuator spring fatigue, air leakage or feedback loose. HART no communication: Signal wire open/short, loop resistance mismatch or electronic board damage.
