Module Feature

MHL3680036DC1352 belongs to Square D MHL series molded case circuit breaker for DC application.

It is 3-pole, 800A frame current, rated voltage 600VDC, LI trip unit (overload + instantaneous short circuit protection), feed-through terminal configuration. Designed for DC distribution loops, commonly applied for UPS output, battery bank, solar DC combiner cabinet and heavy industrial DC feeder protection. It can be equipped with auxiliary switch, shunt trip and undervoltage release accessories, high DC short-circuit withstand capability. This is a heavy-duty DC MCCB, widely stocked spare for data center and energy storage power distribution cabinet.

Working principle

When DC load current exceeds overload setting value, the thermal bimetallic element delays to trigger trip.

When short-circuit fault occurs, magnetic trip component acts instantly to separate main contacts and cut off DC fault current. Auxiliary contact provides breaker ON/OFF status signal to remote monitoring system. Mechanical interlock prevents accidental closing after tripping.

Onboard components

Main contact assembly, arc quenching chamber, thermal-magnetic trip unit, molded insulated case, feed-thru terminal lugs, status auxiliary switch set, shunt release / UV release coil (optional).

LED indicators

Not built-in LED; breaker position window shows open / close visual status.

Hardware self‑diagnosis

No built-in electronic self-diagnosis. Inspection items include contact overheating, insulation aging, trip function test and resistance measurement.

Installation

Tighten terminal torque according to specification, test trip function before energizing DC loop.

Diagnostic

Overload trip: Long-term load current exceeds rated value, check DC load condition. Instantaneous trip: DC short circuit or reverse polarity fault, inspect downstream cable and load. Cannot close: Mechanical latch damaged, trip not reset or interlock locked.
