Module Feature

Y/11GM-DS4/CAL-E is Yokogawa traditional mechanical pneumatic gauge pressure transmitter, belongs to Y/11GM platform.

It is purely mechanical structure without electronic components, CAL-E suffix means factory calibrated with PSI engineering unit, DS4 defines the measuring span range. The transmitter converts measured gauge pressure into standard 20～100kPa instrument air signal, compatible with old pneumatic controller, indicator and recorder. Wetted parts can be configured with stainless steel diaphragm, features stable output, anti-explosion inherently safe design without power supply. This model has been discontinued, still stocked as spare for old pneumatic control loop in process plants.

Working principle

Process pressure acts on the sensing capsule / diaphragm assembly, generates mechanical displacement.

The baffle-nozzle pneumatic amplifier converts tiny displacement into variable back pressure, then amplified to standard 20~100kPa air output proportional to input pressure. Zero and span can be adjusted via mechanical screw on site, the output air signal is delivered to downstream pneumatic receiving instruments through tubing.

Onboard components

Pressure sensing capsule, baffle-nozzle assembly, relay pneumatic amplifier, zero/span adjustment screw, feedback spring, stainless steel process connection, air supply port, signal output port, aluminum alloy housing.

LED indicators

Not applicable, fully mechanical instrument with no electronic indicator. Local value needs to be checked by matched pneumatic gauge.

Hardware self‑diagnosis

No electronic self-diagnosis. On-site inspection includes supply air pressure check, output signal test, zero drift, diaphragm leakage and blockage of nozzle.

Programming software

Not applicable, mechanical calibration only.

Installation

Install suitable isolation valve and drain manifold before process connection.

Connect clean dry instrument air supply and signal tubing, perform zero and span adjustment according to calibration sheet.

Interface

Process pressure port, instrument air supply inlet, 20~100kPa pneumatic signal output port.

Diagnostic

Output no change: No supply air, nozzle blocked, diaphragm rupture or feedback spring broken. Zero drift: Mechanical aging, mounting stress or medium crystallization stuck on sensing element. Output unstable: Air supply pressure fluctuates or water/oil contamination inside pneumatic relay.
