Meggitt 05445D Variable Reluctance Speed Sensor Unit

Feature & Principle

This passive reluctance sensor requires no external power supply. When gear teeth pass the probe tip, electromagnetic induction generates AC sine pulse signal. The signal frequency corresponds to shaft rotating speed, which is sent to turbine control system for speed indication, closed-loop regulation and overspeed trip protection.
