OPTIMATION OL3420 Operator Interface Module

Module Feature

OPTIMATION OL3420 belongs to OptiLogic series slot-type operator interface module. It is designed to be installed into OL4054, OL4058 OptiLogic RTU rack card slot. This interface card acts as internal bridge between RTU mainboard and OptiMate OP/OM series operator panels. It processes serial communication data between rack and front HMI terminal, supports configuration and data exchange for local operation panels. Same mechanical form factor as standard OptiLogic I/O modules, supports hot plug. Widely used in semiconductor wet bench and chemical delivery control cabinet modular I/O rack system.

Working principle: OL3420 connects to RTU backplane bus. It exchanges process data, alarm signals and keypad commands between RTU and OptiMate operator panels, converts internal rack bus signals to HMI serial protocol. Only one OL3420 operator interface module can be installed within a single OptiLogic RTU rack. Function

OL3420 operator interface module manufactured by OPTIMATION. It serves as dedicated internal communication bridge for rack-mounted HMI connection. Poor backplane contact will lead to HMI panel communication loss. It is special interface module for wet bench automation OptiLogic rack system.

Installation

Follow lockout/tagout safety procedure before installation. Power off OptiLogic RTU rack. Insert OL3420 module into empty rack slot and lock latches. Wire operator panel serial wiring, power up rack, verify module identification and HMI data communication via OL System Builder.

Diagnostic

Module not detected:Poor backplane contact or damaged edge connector. HMI no communication:Serial wiring error or module failure. Intermittent connection:Loose module latch or internal solder joint issue.
