OPTIMATION OM-9001-2 Communications Master

Module Feature

OPTIMATION OM-9001-2 is the upgraded OptiMate series communication master gateway. It allows up to 31 pieces of OP / OM series OptiMate operator terminals to share a single PLC serial communication port. Equipped with dual independent RS422 multi-drop panel buses and one host PLC serial interface. Supports multiple mainstream PLC protocols including GE 90-30, Allen‑Bradley SLC500, DirectLOGIC and Modbus RTU. Dip switches on board for baud rate, station address and bus termination resistor setting. Metal cabinet surface mount housing, used widely in semiconductor wet bench and chemical delivery multi-operator panel control systems.

Working principle: OM-9001-2 establishes serial communication with host PLC, then distributes data to all HMI panels on two RS422 multi-drop buses. It transparently exchanges real-time process values, setpoints and alarm messages between PLC and each operator terminal. Dual bus design enables separation of two panel groups for larger systems. Function

OM-9001-2 communication master manufactured by OPTIMATION. It reduces PLC serial port consumption for multi-HMI wet bench systems. Incorrect baud rate, address conflict or missing termination resistor will cause communication failure. It is central serial gateway for chemical delivery automation multi-operator station network.

Installation

Follow lockout/tagout safety procedure before installation. Power off control cabinet. Fix unit on cabinet inner surface. Wire 24VDC power, PLC serial cable and two RS422 multi-drop bus cables. Set DIP switch parameters, download network configuration in OP-WINEDIT, test all connected HMI panels before production startup.

Diagnostic

No PLC communication:Baud rate mismatch, parity error or PLC wiring fault. All panels offline:Bus short circuit or missing 24VDC power supply. Single panel no response:Panel address conflict or broken drop cable. Intermittent communication:Missing bus termination resistor or unshielded cable.
