Module Feature

PJL36120 is the base model of Schneider PowerPacT P series molded case circuit breaker. 3-pole, rated current 1200A, rated voltage 600V AC, ultimate interrupting capacity 25kA at 600V. It supports interchangeable Micrologic electronic trip units (Micrologic 3.0/5.0 etc.) for LI or LSI protection. It can be equipped with auxiliary contacts, alarm contacts, shunt trip and undervoltage release accessories. Terminal type is lug connection, fixed unit mount design. Widely stocked as maintenance spare for factory distribution cabinet, commercial power panel and MCC room.

Working principle

Internal current transformers sample three-phase load current and transmit signals to Micrologic trip unit. The electronic trip unit executes overload long-delay, short-time delay and instantaneous short-circuit protection curves. When fault threshold is exceeded, the trip mechanism releases the contacts to isolate fault circuit. It supports measurement and fault recording functions, and can output alarm signals to SCADA system via auxiliary contacts or communication module.

Onboard components

Main contact assembly, arc extinguishing chamber, CT sensor group, Micrologic trip unit interface, thermal-magnetic or electronic trip mechanism, manual operating handle, auxiliary switch mounting base, terminal lugs and heavy-duty molded insulated housing.

LED indicators

Trip unit LCD displays load current, protection setting curve and fault codes. Mechanical indicator shows ON/OFF and trip status.

Hardware self‑diagnosis

Built-in supervision detects CT signal loss, trip unit power loss, overload pre-alarm and internal hardware fault. Configuration and protection testing are completed by Schneider EcoStruxure Power Commissioning software.

Installation

Isolate upstream power supply and lock out before replacement. Check three-phase phase sequence, install matched Micrologic trip unit and accessories, set protection parameters, test closing, tripping and protection action after commissioning.

Interface

Three-phase main lug terminals, control accessory wiring terminals, auxiliary/status contact terminals.

Diagnostic

Overload alarm: Load exceeds long delay setting. Short circuit trip: Instantaneous or short-time delay protection triggered. Cannot close: Trip latch locked, interlock active, undervoltage release fault. Trip unit trouble: Auxiliary power missing, CT wiring open.
