Module Feature

6FC5410-0AY01-0AA0 is Siemens SINUMERIK 810D CCU1 compact control unit. It is the core mainboard of 810D CNC system, integrating NC numerical control kernel, PLC logic and drive communication interface in one board.

It connects with SIMODRIVE 611U servo drives via PROFIBUS drive bus, supports multi-axis interpolation control, CNC machining program execution, logic IO interaction and machine data storage. This model is discontinued, widely used for old lathes, milling machines, machining centers and grinding machines CNC system overhaul replacement.

Working principle

The CCU1 receives part programs and machine operation commands from HMI panel.

It calculates axis position command, sends setpoint to servo drives through PROFIBUS, meanwhile runs PLC user program to process digital I/O, safety interlock and auxiliary machine actions. It continuously reads encoder feedback signals to realize closed-loop position control of each feed axis and spindle.

Onboard components

NC main processor, PLC CPU, program memory, machine data flash storage, PROFIBUS communication chip, servo signal interface, backplane bus connector, status indicator circuit.

LED indicators

Board LEDs indicate power supply, RUN status, PLC fault, NC alarm and PROFIBUS communication link status.

Hardware self‑diagnosis

Power-on self-test detects memory error, communication failure, backplane fault, configuration mismatch and hardware damage, outputs alarm codes on HMI screen.

Programming software

Installation

Cut off cabinet power before replacement, insert CCU1 board into the original rack slot and lock the fixing screws.

Match the system version and machine data, download PLC program and machine parameters, perform axis reference point calibration before trial run.

Diagnostic
