Triconex 3625C Digital Output Module Unit

Module Feature

3625C is a hot-swappable TMR digital output module of Triconex Tricon safety instrumented system.

It adopts triple modular redundant 2oo3 voting architecture, with 32 channels of 24VDC sourcing output. It supports supervised output mode, monitors open wire, short circuit and load fault for each channel. The module communicates with the main controller through dedicated Tricon backplane bus. It is widely deployed in petrochemical, coal chemical, combined cycle power and offshore facilities for emergency shutdown, valve driving and safety interlock control.

Working principle

Three independent internal logic channels execute the output command simultaneously and perform hardware voting.

Only when at least two channels are consistent will the output be activated. Built-in diagnostic circuits continuously check channel health. Once fault is detected, the module reports alarm and safely cuts off the output according to safety logic.

Onboard components

Three sets of independent output drive circuits, backplane high-speed TMR bus connector, channel diagnosis sampling circuit, status LED array, metal reinforced shield housing, conformal coated circuit board.

LED indicators

Front LEDs indicate power status, module run status, TMR voting fault and channel failure alarm.

Hardware self‑diagnosis

Built-in supervision detects supply voltage abnormality, backplane communication loss, channel open/short circuit and internal hardware mismatch. Fault codes and channel status can be viewed via Tricon Explorer engineering software.

Programming software

Tricon Explorer Engineering Tool, used for module configuration, channel diagnosis, alarm viewing and firmware upgrade.

Installation

Cut off cabinet power before replacement, insert the module into the designated slot and lock the handle. Verify backplane bus communication, TMR voting and channel diagnosis function before commissioning.

Interface

Tricon high-density backplane bus connector, field signal terminal connection via matching termination board.

Diagnostic

Module offline: Missing 24V DC supply, bent backplane pin or bus communication failure. Channel fault: Field cable short/open circuit or output drive circuit damage. TMR mismatch alarm: Internal channel inconsistency or module hardware degradation.
