Module Feature

FLKM-D37 SUB/S is a passive VARIOFACE interface breakout module developed by Phoenix Contact. It realizes direct 1:1 pin-to-pin signal transmission between 37-pin D-SUB connector and screw terminal block,without active electronic chips. Designed for standard NS35/7.5 DIN rail mounting,fits inside industrial control cabinets and test racks. Screw terminals accept solid/stranded wire ranging from 0.2 mm² to 4 mm². It adopts functional insulation,overvoltage category II and pollution degree 2,rated up to 60 V DC / 30 V AC,max 2.5 A per channel. Compact green polyamide housing with IP20 protection to prevent touch hazard and large solid particle ingress. Widely used to convert VMIC VME/MAX I/O board D37 signal cables to field terminal wiring for gas/steam turbine control,aerospace ground test bench and hardware-in-loop real-time simulation chassis.

Working principle

Signals from D-SUB cable are directly routed through PCB copper traces to screw terminal terminals. No signal amplification,conversion or signal buffering. Each pin maintains one-to-one mapping between D-SUB connector and terminal block. Screw terminals provide convenient field wire termination for discrete digital,encoder and low voltage analog signals.

Installation

Follow ESD safety procedure before handling.Snap module onto NS35 DIN rail until clip locks securely.Connect D-SUB cable to module D-SUB port.Strip wire insulation and fasten conductors to screw terminals according to pin assignment.Complete wiring continuity check before system power-up.

Diagnostic

Open circuit: loose terminal screw,broken cable wire or bad D-SUB pin contact. Short circuit: adjacent terminal wire touching or insulation damage. Unstable signal: insufficient screw torque,wire strand not fully inserted inside terminal. Module loose: DIN rail spring clip not fully engaged.
