Module Feature

VMICMINI is a compact lightweight on-camera shotgun condenser microphone developed by Saramonic. It adopts supercardioid directional pickup pattern to suppress side and rear ambient noise and focus on front sound source. Pure plug-and-play design,built-in preamplifier and no internal battery needed,powered directly by camera or smartphone audio interface. Integrated shock mount isolates mechanical vibration and handling rumble noise. Equipped with soft foam windscreen to reduce wind interference for outdoor recording. Two gold-plated 3.5 mm coiled cables are included: TRS for cameras/camcorders and TRRS for smartphones/tablets. Rugged all-aluminum alloy housing,shock and vibration screened for field mobile shooting environment,widely used in field interview,documentary,vlog and portable hardware-in-loop test system audio acquisition.

Working principle

Sound waves enter microphone capsule and convert acoustic signals into weak analog electrical signals. Onboard preamplifier amplifies audio signal to matched output level. Supercardioid acoustic tube attenuates off-axis background noise. Integrated shock mount cuts vibration transmission from camera body. Analog audio signal transmits via 3.5 mm TRS/TRRS cable to recording device.

Installation

Align integrated shock mount with camera hot shoe and tighten locking knob. Install foam windscreen over microphone head. Select matched cable: TRS for camera,TRRS for smartphone. Insert cable 3.5 mm plug into microphone and recording device audio input. Start recording and test audio signal before formal capture.

Diagnostic

No audio output: incompatible TRS/TRRS cable or poor jack contact. Heavy wind noise: foam windscreen missing or damaged. Vibration rumble: shock mount loose or over-tightened mounting screw. Muffled sound: capsule blocked by dust or windscreen deformation.
