Products Description

Woodward 8407-515 TecJet 110 Fuel Control Valve Unit

Module Feature

8407-515 is Woodward TecJet 110 digital fuel metering valve, an all-in-one assembly combining proportional valve body, electric actuator and signal conditioning electronics. It performs real-time mass flow calculation with built-in pressure and temperature compensation to eliminate density variation error of natural gas. Fast dynamic response supports large load step changes for reciprocating gas engines and dual-fuel prime movers. Control resolution is high for precise air-fuel ratio management and emission compliance. It accepts 4-20mA analog setpoint or digital Modbus communication from engine controller. Internal sensors continuously monitor differential pressure, gas temperature and valve position feedback. SIL 2 safety integrity level certification allows deployment on power generation and compression equipment. Widely used for generator sets, gas compressors and industrial dual-fuel engines.

Working principle

The host engine controller sends flow setpoint to TecJet valve. Onboard DSP reads gas pressure, temperature and valve LVDT position signals, calculates required valve opening to achieve target mass flow. The actuator drives the trim element to adjust flow area dynamically. Measured flow and fault status are transmitted back to the main control system for closed-loop air-fuel control and safety interlock.

Onboard components

Gas valve body, proportional actuator, LVDT position sensor, pressure transducer, temperature sensor, main control PCB, communication interface circuit, cable gland assembly, metal flange housing.

LED indicators

Local status LEDs for power, command active, valve tracking and fault alarm.

Hardware self‑diagnosis

Self-check covers supply voltage out-of-range, position tracking error, sensor signal loss, over-temperature, valve travel limit and communication timeout. Fault codes and runtime history are stored in on-board memory.

Programming software

Woodward ToolView configuration software for flow curve calibration, communication setup and firmware upgrade.
