Products Description
Olympus IX81 Inverted Research Microscope with IX2-ILL100 Illumination Unit

Module Feature
IX81 is Olympus high-end motorized inverted research microscope built on UIS2 universal infinity optical platform. It supports brightfield, phase contrast, DIC and multi-channel fluorescence observation. Motorized turret, Z-axis focusing and light path switching enable automated imaging sequences. IX2-ILL100 is the matched transmitted light illuminator module for IX2 series, providing stable halogen illumination for transmitted light observation, with intensity adjustable via controller. The modular architecture allows easy addition of fluorescence cubes, CCD camera ports, incubation stage and auto-shutter. It is widely used for live cell culture observation, immunofluorescence, drug screening and tissue slice analysis in biological and pharmaceutical laboratories.
Working principle
Light from IX2-ILL100 illuminator passes through condenser and penetrates the specimen on the stage. Objective lens collects transmitted or fluorescence emission light and forms an infinity-corrected optical image. Light path selector diverts image to binocular eyepiece or camera port. Motorized components execute focus and filter switching commands from control software for automated image acquisition.
Onboard componentsIX81 main microscope stand, motorized nosepiece, Z drive unit, condenser assembly, binocular observation head, side camera port; IX2-ILL100 lamp house, halogen bulb, intensity control circuit, light guide interface, power connector.
LED indicatorsIlluminator panel LED for power and lamp status.
Hardware self‑diagnosisMotor drive self-check detects position sensor error, travel limit and motor overload; illuminator monitors lamp failure and overheat protection. Fault information displays on controller or software interface.
Programming softwareOlympus IX2-BSW control software for automation, capture and parameter setup.
