X2FD-pO2 Oxygen Sensor Module Unit

Module Feature

X2FD-pO2 is dedicated industrial oxygen measuring module adopting galvanic fuel cell sensing principle. It is designed for measuring oxygen concentration in mixed gas, supports 4–20mA analog output proportional to O2 volume percentage. Built-in temperature compensation circuit to reduce reading drift under varying ambient temperature. Signal channel galvanic isolation, suitable for integration into gas analyzer cabinets, furnace atmosphere monitoring and inert gas blanketing systems. It is widely stocked as maintenance spare for chemical, thermal power and food inerting instrument skids.

Working principle

Oxygen molecules diffuse through the membrane into galvanic fuel cell. Electrochemical reaction generates current proportional to oxygen concentration. The conditioning circuit converts micro-current signal into stabilized 4–20mA analog signal and sends value to DCS or gas controller. Module continuously monitors sensor aging and signal failure, triggers fault status when sensor is end-of-life or blocked.

Onboard components

Galvanic O2 fuel cell, diffusion membrane, temperature compensation thermistor, signal conditioning PCB, 24VDC regulation circuit, 4-20mA output circuit, status LED and compact plastic housing.

LED indicators

Front LEDs indicate power supply, normal measuring status and sensor fault alarm.

Hardware self‑diagnosis

Built-in supervision detects signal out-of-range, sensor low output (end of life), internal electronics fault. Calibration and fault diagnosis are finished via zero gas and span gas calibration.

Programming softwareUniversal HART / analyzer configuration tool (if equipped with digital bus), used for range setup, calibration record and fault reading.

Installation

Cut off module power and isolate sample gas path before replacement. Install with correct gas flow direction, complete zero and span calibration using standard calibration gas, test 4-20mA signal response after commissioning.

Interface

24VDC power terminal, 4-20mA signal output terminal, sample gas inlet/outlet port.

Diagnostic

Fixed low reading: Sensor expired, membrane blocked or sample gas flow insufficient. Reading drift: Temperature fluctuation, insufficient calibration, electrolyte drying. No output: Power loss, wiring open or electronic circuit damage.
