York 224-38969-000 Calibrated Circuit Breaker Unit

Module Feature

224-38969-000 is York original factory calibrated circuit breaker, designed for large centrifugal chiller main power feeder.

It is preset and calibrated at factory for chiller protection coordination, supports long-time overload, short-time delay and instantaneous short circuit protection. It is matched with York chiller control logic, can send fault trip signal to chiller master controller for safety interlock. Heavy-duty frame structure to adapt high inrush current of chiller compressor startup. It is a special OEM spare for York refrigeration unit maintenance.

Working principle

Internal current transformers sample three-phase current and send signals to electronic trip unit.

When overload or short circuit fault occurs, trip unit releases operating mechanism and cuts off compressor power loop. Trip alarm contact outputs trip status signal to chiller PLC, triggers chiller safety stop sequence. Calibrated trip curve is locked at factory to match chiller compressor protection requirement.

Onboard components

Main contact assembly, arc extinguishing chamber, CT sensor group, calibrated electronic trip unit, trip release coil, auxiliary and alarm contact set, operating mechanism, heavy-duty insulated housing.

LED indicators

Front LEDs indicate power supply, overload pre-alarm and fault trip status.

Hardware self‑diagnosis

Built-in supervision detects trip unit power loss, internal circuit fault and CT abnormality. Fault alarm is uploaded to chiller control panel.

Programming software

York Navigator, used for chiller system diagnosis and trip alarm viewing.

Installation

Disconnect upstream power supply before replacement.

Do not modify factory calibrated trip setting, test trip feedback signal with chiller controller after installation.

Interface

Three-phase main power terminal, alarm/auxiliary dry contact terminal, shunt trip wiring terminal.

Diagnostic

Overload trip: Compressor running overload, check refrigerant condition and loading. Instantaneous trip: Downstream short circuit, inspect cable and compressor winding. Trip signal loss: Auxiliary contact damaged or wiring open.
