011942-002 Proximity Probe Extension Cable Assembly Unit

Module Feature

011942-002 is a factory-terminated shielded extension cable assembly for eddy current displacement probe.

It is used to connect eddy probe and vibration monitor front-end module. Internal twisted pair structure, overall braided shielding to suppress EMI interference. Both ends pre-crimped circular connectors, fixed cable length, impedance matched for eddy current measurement loop. Conformal jacket resistant to oil, dust and moderate vibration. Widely stocked as spare for turbine, compressor, pump shaft vibration monitoring cabinet.

Working principle

It transmits high-frequency RF excitation signal from monitor to eddy probe.

And returns the reflected signal back to the monitor for gap calculation. The characteristic impedance and total cable capacitance must match the monitor setting, otherwise gap reading drift or alarm will occur. Shield single-point grounding to avoid ground loop noise.

Onboard components

Twin inner conductor, PTFE insulation, copper braid shield, outer protective jacket, circular metal connectors, strain relief boot.

LED indicators

No built-in LED; status is displayed on monitor rack.

Hardware self‑diagnosis

Monitor cable health test detects open, short and capacitance mismatch. Calibration is completed by probe system static gap test.Programming softwareMonitoring configuration software (Bently System 1 or similar), used for cable length compensation setup.

Installation

Isolate monitor power before cable replacement.

Check connector pin assignment, torque connector correctly, avoid pulling cable core, input correct cable length compensation parameter, test gap reading and cable health after commissioning.

Diagnostic

Cable fault alarm: Wire break, internal short, capacitance out of specification. Gap unstable: Shield grounding double ended, connector loose, cable crushed. Gap offset: Cable length parameter wrong.
