A.Eberle REG-DA Transformer Voltage Regulator Unit

Module Feature

REG-DA is A.Eberle REGSys series integrated voltage regulator for on-load tap changer. It can realize automatic voltage regulation, transformer condition monitoring, data recording and statistical management functions at the same time.

It is equipped with TMM transformer monitoring module, calculates hot spot temperature and transformer loss-of-life according to IEC60354 / IEC60076, and can drive multi-stage cooling control. It supports parallel synchronous control of up to 15 transformers via ELAN bus (fiber or copper). It has rich programmable binary input and relay output points, can expand BIN-D / ANA-D remote I/O modules and various communication cards. Widely applied in power plant, substation and industrial large power transformer AVR system.

Working principle

The regulator collects three-phase voltage, current, oil temperature and tap position signals.

After internal calculation, compare the actual voltage with set target value, output tap up / tap down command to OLTC motor drive mechanism. The built-in monitoring function continuously tracks hot spot temperature and aging loss. When abnormal condition occurs, alarm signal will be triggered and tap operation can be locked. Operation records and fault events are stored in internal log.

Onboard components

Main control CPU board, measurement sampling CT/PT interface, LCD operation display panel, relay output group, binary input terminal group, ELAN bus communication module, power supply unit, event memory, expansion slot for communication card.

LED indicators

Front panel LEDs indicate power supply, automatic regulation running, tap action, over-limit alarm and communication status.

Hardware self‑diagnosis

Self-check covers measurement signal loss, tap position signal abnormality, communication bus timeout, internal power failure and hardware fault. Fault codes and event logs can be viewed locally or uploaded.

Programming software

WinREG software for regulation curve setting, transformer parameter configuration, parallel logic setup, fault log export and firmware upgrade.

Installation

Install regulator in control cabinet, connect voltage/current sampling, tap position feedback and OLTC motor control wiring.

Set voltage target, bandwidth, time delay and transformer thermal parameters in WinREG. Complete parallel address setting if multiple regulators are used. Check tap action interlock and alarm function before commissioning.

Diagnostic

Voltage cannot stabilize: Regulation bandwidth or time delay improper, sampling signal abnormal.
