Module Feature

PHARPS32000000 is a multi-output switching power supply tray of ABB Bailey MPS III series for classic INFI 90 Symphony distributed control system. It provides four groups of stable DC power at the same time: 5V@60A for logic core circuit, +15V/-15V@3A for analog signal board, 24V@17A for relay and field loop. It supports N+1 redundant parallel configuration and hot swap without cabinet power down. Built-in overvoltage, overcurrent, short-circuit and over-temperature protection. Widely stocked as spare for power plant, pulp & paper and chemical plant Symphony DCS control cabinets.

Working principle

AC input is rectified and filtered, then converted by high-frequency switching circuit into multiple isolated DC voltage channels. Each output channel adopts closed-loop voltage feedback regulation to suppress ripple and load fluctuation. Internal monitoring circuit tracks each output voltage and temperature. When fault occurs, it triggers latch-off and fault alarm signal to DCS controller. Redundant load sharing logic ensures seamless switchover if one supply fails.

Onboard components

AC input rectifier, high frequency switching power stage, isolated multi-channel output regulation circuit, current sharing redundancy control board, fault supervision logic, cooling fan, status LED array and metal rack tray housing.

LED indicators

Front LEDs indicate AC present, each DC output normal, fan status and fault alarm.

Hardware self‑diagnosis

Unit monitors AC input, every DC output voltage, fan speed and internal temperature. No local parameter setting required.

Programming software

ABB Symphony engineering tool, used for redundant power system diagnosis and fault log viewing.

Installation

Cut off AC input power before replacement. Mount tray into 19-inch rack, wire AC input terminal and multi-channel DC output bus, connect redundancy sharing line if parallel, verify output voltage and fault alarm function after commissioning.

Interface

AC input terminals, 5V / ±15V / 24V DC output terminals, redundancy sharing communication terminals, fault alarm dry contact terminals.

Diagnostic
