Accustream 1000002-001 Waterjet Sapphire Orifice Unit

Module Feature

1000002-001 is Accustream sapphire orifice for abrasive waterjet cutting head. It adopts high hardness sapphire crystal material, with precisely machined micro orifice.

It can withstand ultra-high pressure water flow, form concentrated and stable water jet. It is the core part to form high-speed water beam before mixing abrasive sand. It has good wear resistance, but sensitive to water impurity. Commonly matched with mixing chamber and focusing tube on waterjet cutting machine.

Working principle

Ultra-high pressure pure water passes through the tiny orifice of sapphire chip, the pressure energy converts into high-speed kinetic energy and forms thin high-speed water beam.

The high-speed water enters mixing cavity and draws garnet abrasive into jet flow, then accelerates together inside focusing tube to realize material erosion cutting. If orifice is scratched or blocked, jet divergence and cutting quality decline will appear.

Onboard components

Sapphire orifice chip, stainless steel retaining seat, sealing gasket.

LED indicators

No built-in indicator lamp. Jet condition is judged by cutting effect and machine pressure display.

Hardware self‑diagnosis

No electronic self-diagnosis. Fault judgment depends on cutting quality, pressure fluctuation and visual inspection of orifice surface.

Installation

Clean orifice holder cavity before installation, install new sealing gasket. Place sapphire orifice flat without scratch, tighten holder according to torque requirement.

Check high-pressure water leakage after assembly. Use well-filtered RO purified water to extend service life. Replace regularly when jet spreading occurs.

Interface

High pressure water inlet side, jet outlet side for abrasive mixing chamber connection.

Diagnostic

Jet spreading: Sapphire orifice scratched, chipped or blocked by impurity.

Pressure unstable: Orifice damage, sealing ring leakage.

No jet: Orifice completely blocked by dirt.
