Module Feature

1786-RPFRXL/B belongs to 1786 ControlNet series extra-long-distance fiber ring repeater manufactured by Allen-Bradley (Rockwell Automation). It supports ControlNet 5Mbps communication,compatible with single-mode and multi-mode optical fiber. Max transmission distance up to 15km for single-mode fiber and 3km for multi-mode fiber. Adopts ST fiber interface,supports redundant ring network topology. Equipped with optical channel diagnostic LEDs and fault relay alarm output. Widely used in large factory production lines,automotive workshops and heavy process automation for long-distance ControlNet fiber network extension.

Working principle

The module converts ControlNet coaxial electrical signals into optical signals for long-distance transmission. It regenerates and reshapes network signals,realizes bidirectional data transmission between two fiber channels. When one fiber path breaks,the redundant ring automatically switches to maintain network communication continuously. It monitors optical signal strength and internal power status in real time.

Installation

Follow ESD safety procedure before handling.Mount vertically and reserve sufficient ventilation gap.Connect 24VDC power to power terminals.Plug fiber cables into ST ports for ring topology wiring.Verify optical link status via LED indicators before network commissioning.
