Module Feature

33000027-1 is Bently Nevada eddy current proximity probe for 3300 monitoring system.

It adopts eddy current induction principle, non-contact measurement of metal shaft clearance. The probe body is stainless steel structure, PPS molded sensing tip, fixed scale factor. It needs to work together with matching extension cable and proximitor sensor. It can monitor radial vibration, axial thrust position, keyphasor speed signal. Oil resistant, vibration resistant, suitable for power plant, refinery turbomachinery continuous online protection. Widely stocked as maintenance spare for steam turbine, gas turbine and compressor monitoring rack.

Working principle

Proximitor sends high-frequency RF excitation signal to probe coil.

Alternating magnetic field induces eddy current on rotating shaft surface. The feedback impedance changes with the gap between probe tip and shaft. The proximitor converts impedance variation into proportional negative DC voltage, which is transmitted to monitor module for gap value, vibration and position calculation.

Onboard components

Enameled wire sensing coil, PPS probe tip, stainless steel probe body, internal high temperature insulation, sealing assembly, built-in lead wire and gold-plated connector.

LED indicators

No LED on probe body; working status and gap value are displayed on monitor rack.

Hardware self‑diagnosis

TSI rack self-test detects probe open, short circuit and cable capacitance mismatch. Gap calibration uses feeler gauge and voltmeter.Programming softwareBently Nevada System 1 / Rack Configuration Software, used for probe scale factor setup and fault log viewing.

Installation

Isolate proximitor power before replacement.

Clean target shaft surface, install probe and adjust gap to midpoint of linear range, connect extension cable, verify scale factor and gap voltage, test vibration response after commissioning.

Interface

Probe built-in cable to extension cable connector, M thread mounting stud.

Diagnostic

Probe fault alarm: Coil open or short circuit. Unstable gap reading: Target surface rough, mounting loose, cable crushed. Gap offset: Incorrect scale factor setting.
