Bently Nevada 7300120-40 Eddy Current Probe Extension Cable Unit

Module Feature

7300120-40 is 4-meter factory pre-terminated shielded extension cable for Bently Nevada eddy current probe measurement chain.

It is used to connect eddy displacement probe and proximitor monitor module. The cable capacitance and characteristic impedance are precisely calibrated to the system requirement. PTFE insulation, overall copper braided shielding to suppress EMI noise. Fluoropolymer outer jacket, oil resistant, vibration resistant, suitable for turbine, centrifugal compressor and pump monitoring. It must be used together with matched probe and proximitor, the cable length parameter must be entered correctly on monitoring configuration. Widely stocked as maintenance spare for power plant and refinery machinery protection rack.

Working principle

Proximitor module sends high-frequency RF excitation signal through inner conductors to the probe coil.

Reflected eddy signal returns back along the same conductors to proximitor. Proximitor converts impedance variation into gap voltage for displacement and vibration calculation. If cable capacitance out of tolerance, monitor will trigger cable health fault alarm. Shield must be grounded at one end only to eliminate ground loop interference.

Onboard components

Inner signal conductors, PTFE dielectric insulation, copper braid shield, fluoropolymer protective jacket, metal circular connectors, sealing boot and strain relief assembly.

LED indicators

No LED on cable assembly; fault status and gap value display on TSI monitor rack.

Hardware self‑diagnosis

Monitor rack cable health test detects open, short and capacitance deviation. Static gap calibration uses feeler gauge and DC voltmeter.Programming softwareBently Nevada System 1 configuration software, used for cable length compensation and fault log review.

Installation

Power off monitoring rack before cable replacement.

Check pin assignment, torque connector to specified torque value, avoid squeezing or stretching cable core, set 4m cable compensation parameter in monitor, test cable health and stable gap reading after commissioning.

Probe side circular connector, proximitor rack side circular connector.

Diagnostic

Cable fault alarm: Internal wire break, short circuit, capacitance out of specification. Unstable gap reading: Double-ended shield grounding, connector loose, cable crushed. Measurement offset: Wrong cable length compensation parameter.
