Module Feature

7300120-100 is a pre-assembled shielded extension cable for eddy current displacement probe.

It connects the eddy probe to the proximitor module inside the monitoring rack. The cable core is precision matched for capacitance and characteristic impedance, which is critical for stable gap reading. Overall copper braided shielding suppresses electromagnetic interference. PTFE insulation and heavy-duty outer jacket provide oil and vibration resistance. Both ends are fitted with sealed circular metal connectors. It must be used with corresponding probe and proximitor as a complete set. Widely stocked as spare for steam turbine, centrifugal compressor and high-speed rotating machinery protection rack.

Working principle

The proximitor sends high-frequency excitation signal through this cable to the probe coil.

Reflected eddy signal returns along the same conductors to the proximitor. The proximitor converts signal variation into gap voltage. If the cable capacitance deviates from calibration value, gap measurement will drift or trigger cable fault alarm. Shield single-point grounding is required to eliminate ground loop noise.

Onboard components

Inner signal conductors, PTFE dielectric insulation, copper braid shield, fluoropolymer outer jacket, metal circular connectors, sealing boot and strain relief.

LED indicators

No LED fitted on cable; status and fault are displayed on TSI monitor rack.

Hardware self‑diagnosis

Monitor rack cable health test detects open circuit, short circuit and capacitance out of tolerance. Static gap calibration uses feeler gauge and voltmeter.Programming softwareSystem 1 configuration software, used for cable length compensation setup and fault event review.

Installation

Power off the monitoring rack before cable replacement.

Check pin assignment and tighten connectors to torque value, avoid pulling or crushing cable core, input correct cable length parameter in rack configuration, test gap reading and cable health after commissioning.

Diagnostic

Cable fault alarm: Internal wire break, short circuit, capacitance out of spec. Unstable gap: Double-ended shield grounding, loose connector, mechanical crush. Offset gap value: Wrong cable length compensation parameter.
