Module Feature

CMFS015M313N2BAECZZ belongs to Emerson Micro Motion ELITE series Coriolis sensor. It is a small-bore DN3 (1/6 inch) twin bent tube design manufactured from 316L stainless steel. It directly measures mass flow, density and temperature simultaneously without flow profile correction. It delivers ±0.10% liquid mass flow accuracy, optional custody transfer grade performance, and supports Smart Meter Verification for in-situ health check without process shutdown. Compatible with 1500, 2700, 3500, 4700 series transmitters. Hazardous area approvals including ATEX, IECEx are available. Widely used in chemical, pharmaceutical, food & beverage and hydrocarbon batching applications.

Working principle** The drive coil excites the measuring tubes into resonant oscillation. Fluid mass passing through creates Coriolis force, generating a phase shift between inlet and outlet sides of the tube. Pickoff sensors capture this phase difference to calculate mass flow rate. Tube frequency variation is used to derive fluid density, and built-in RTD provides process temperature compensation. The sensor sends digital signal to transmitter for conversion to standard output.

LED indicators

Status indication is located on matched flow transmitter, showing power, measurement active, alarm and diagnostic status.

Hardware self‑diagnosis

Smart Meter Verification continuously monitors tube stiffness, coil health and sensor signal integrity. Detects tube coating, corrosion, sensor drift, wiring fault and abnormal vibration.

Programming software

Emerson ProLink III, used for sensor configuration, calibration, trend review, Smart Meter Verification and firmware upgrade.

Installation

Mount the sensor with proper support to isolate pipeline stress and vibration. Keep sufficient upstream and downstream straight run as required. Use shielded sensor cable between sensor and transmitter. Perform zero calibration after commissioning. Run Smart Meter Verification periodically.

Diagnostic

Flow zero shift: Pipe stress, trapped gas, coating on tube wall. Density drift: Temperature compensation error, sensor fouling. Signal loss: Broken pickoff wire, damaged drive coil, loose cable connection. SMV failed: Excessive tube corrosion or mechanical damage.
