System compatibility

40G-SR4-QSFP150M is Extreme certified QSFP+ optical transceiver. Compatible with Extreme switches with QSFP+ ports including X480,X670V,X590,X690,X870 series. It supports native 40G uplink or breakout mode to expand four 10GBASE-SR ports. Works with MPO-12 parallel multi-mode trunk fiber. Suitable for SummitStack-V stacking and short-distance spine-leaf fabric interconnection.

Function

40G-SR4-QSFP150M is short-reach 40G parallel multi-mode optical module for data center. 4-lane 850nm VCSEL transmits 40G signal via MPO multi-mode trunk cable. In breakout mode, each lane can run independently as 10GBASE-SR to increase available 10G port count. This module is widely used for rack-to-rack short 40G uplink, leaf-spine interconnection and high-speed switch stacking inside data center.

Installation

Insert QSFP+ transceiver fully into switch QSFP+ port. Connect MPO-12 trunk fiber cable to module MPO port. Verify module identification, optical transmit/receive power and link status via ExtremeXOS CLI. Configure port breakout function if 4×10G SR ports required. Maintain proper fiber bending radius during cabling.
