System compatibility

4220-4MW-8P-4X is Extreme Networks 4220 series cloud-managed multi-gigabit PoE access switch. The SFP+ slots are compatible with Extreme 1G /10G optical transceivers including SR, LR, BiDi modules. Supports local CLI management and ExtremeCloud IQ cloud management. Designed for high-power Wi-Fi 6 / Wi-Fi7 AP, PTZ camera and industrial PoE endpoints. It can stack with other 4220 switches to expand multi-gigabit PoE access network.

Function

4220-4MW-8P-4X is Layer2 multi-gigabit PoE access switch. 4 multi-gig ports deliver up to 90W PoE++ power for high-performance wireless access points, while 8 gigabit PoE+ ports supply power to regular IP cameras and IP phones. The four SFP+ slots provide high-speed 10G fiber uplink or stacking function. Supports zero-touch provisioning, VLAN, QoS, port security, storm control and network monitoring. Cloud management simplifies multi-site network deployment and rapid fault diagnosis.

Installation

Mount the switch into standard 19-inch 1RU equipment rack. Ensure 1RU free space above unit for silent cooling mode. Connect power cable and power on. Connect RJ45 terminals to PoE powered devices. Insert SFP/SFP+ transceiver into SFP+ slot and connect fiber cable. Configure via local console or ExtremeCloud IQ. Verify port speed negotiation, PoE power output and link status after commissioning.
