System compatibility

5520-48W belongs to Extreme 5520 high-performance edge switch series. It can stack with other 5520 series switches, maximum 8 units in one stack and managed by single IP address. Compatible with Extreme certified 1G/10G SFP+ transceivers and DAC cables. Supports Layer2 switching and complete Layer3 routing protocols, hardware MACsec link encryption. Suitable for large enterprise campus, high-density Wi-Fi AP, IP camera and VoIP terminal access deployment.

Function

5520-48W is high-density PoE+ gigabit access switch for modern enterprise networks. 48 PoE+ ports transmit data and supply up to 30W power for wireless APs, IP surveillance cameras and VoIP phones. Eight SFP+ multi-speed ports provide 1G or 10G fiber uplink to aggregation switch, and support high-speed stacking. Full-port MACsec realizes layer-2 link encryption to protect sensitive network data. It supports VLAN, MSTP/RSTP, 802.1X authentication, LLDP, hardware ACL and multi-level QoS traffic scheduling. Widely used for campus wireless coverage, office building monitoring network and branch wired access.

Installation

Mount the switch to standard 19-inch rack. Install dual hot-swappable AC power supplies and connect power cords. Use console port for initial CLI configuration. Insert SFP+ transceiver or DAC cable for uplink and stacking connection. Configure stacking group, PoE power priority allocation, VLAN and MACsec security policies. Verify port link, PoE output and stack health after power on.
