System compatibility

BR-SLX9850-100Gx36CQ-M is dedicated interface line card for Extreme SLX9850-4 (4-slot) and SLX9850-8 (8-slot) modular routing chassis. QSFP28 slots compatible with 100G SR4/LR4,40G SR4/LR4 optical transceivers and breakout cables. Managed through SLX chassis management module, works with other SLX9850 line cards in the same chassis.

Function

BR-SLX9850-100Gx36CQ-M is high density flexible speed 100G line card for SLX9850 core router. 36 QSFP28 ports can be configured as 100G,40G or split into multiple 10G ports via breakout cables. It provides high-bandwidth connection for data center spine-leaf architecture, cloud interconnection and high-performance computing network. Hardware supports IPv4/IPv6, MPLS, EVPN/VXLAN to realize large-scale layer2/layer3 virtualization. Large 36GB packet buffer absorbs burst traffic and reduces packet loss.

Installation

Power on SLX9850 chassis, insert line card into empty slot, push fully until locking latch clicks. Tighten captive screws. Insert QSFP28/QSFP+ transceiver and fiber/breakout cable. Verify module detection and port status via SLX-OS CLI. Configure port speed and breakout mode according to deployment requirement.
