System compatibility

BR-SLX9850-10Gx72S-M is dedicated line card for Extreme SLX9850-4 (4-slot) and SLX9850-8 (8-slot) modular routing chassis. SFP+ ports compatible with 1G SFP and 10G SFP+ transceivers such as SR,LR,ER,BiDi optical modules. Managed via chassis management module, can work together with other SLX9850 line cards in same chassis.

Function

BR-SLX9850-10Gx72S-M is high-density 1/10G fiber line card for SLX9850 core router. 72 SFP+ ports provide flexible gigabit or 10-gigabit fiber access for leaf switches, servers and storage devices. It supports hardware MPLS, EVPN/VXLAN virtualization, segment routing and PTP timing synchronization. 12GB large packet buffer absorbs traffic burst and reduce packet loss, suitable for spine-leaf data center architecture. Hot swap design allows maintenance without chassis shutdown.

Installation

Power on SLX9850 chassis, insert line card into empty slot, push fully and tighten captive screws. Insert SFP/SFP+ transceivers and fiber cables. Verify card detection and port status through SLX-OS CLI. Set port speed to 1G or 10G according to optical module type.
