System compatibility

X460-G2-24p-10 belongs to Extreme X460-G2 series. Supports SummitStack-V stacking, up to 8 switch members in one stack. Compatible with Extreme original 1G SFP,10G SFP+ transceivers and DAC twinax cables. Rear VIM slot supports VIM2 series interface modules. Supports Layer2 switching and full Layer3 IP routing, OSPF, VRRP, PIM-SM multicast routing. Supports SyncE and IEEE1588 PTP timing when fitted with timing module.

Function

X460-G2-24p-10 is a 1U rack-mount high-performance PoE+ switch for enterprise access or aggregation layer. 24 PoE+ RJ45 ports supply data and power for wireless AP, IP camera and VoIP phones. Four native 10G SFP+ ports provide high-bandwidth uplink to core network and can be used as SummitStack-V stacking links. The rear VIM slot can expand extra 10G or 40G ports. It supports advanced QoS, VLAN segmentation, ACL security filtering, Fabric Attach automated device authentication and broadcast storm control, widely deployed for campus wireless, IP monitoring and medium enterprise network.

Installation

Mount the switch into standard 19-inch equipment rack. Install power supplies and fan tray. Connect AC power cable. Use console cable for initial CLI configuration. Insert SFP/SFP+ transceivers into front SFP+ slots and connect fiber or DAC cables. Install VIM module on rear VIM slot after power-off if extra uplink ports are required. Configure SummitStack-V stacking parameters when multiple switches form stack cluster.
