System compatibility

XGM3SB-2sf-4 is dedicated expansion card for Extreme Summit X460 series switches, including X460-24t, X460-24p, X460-48t, X460-48p. It installs on rear panel expansion bay. Supports SummitStack-V virtual stacking function. Compatible with Extreme original SFP+ transceivers and DAC cables. The SyncE function supports telecom grade clock synchronization for carrier and campus timing network.

Function

XGM3SB-2sf-4 adds four independent 10G SFP+ high-speed ports to Summit X460 switch. Ports can be used as regular 10G uplink to core switch, or configured as SummitStack-V stacking ports for switch cluster. Built-in SyncE hardware provides synchronous clock transmission over 10G Ethernet links. It supports both optical fiber and copper DAC twinax connections, suitable for campus aggregation, enterprise core and carrier timing network uplink expansion.

Installation

Power off the Summit X460 switch and disconnect power cable. Wear ESD anti-static wrist strap. Loosen the blank slot panel screws and remove blank plate. Align XGM3SB-2sf-4 card and slide fully into rear slot, tighten captive screws. Power on switch and reboot, then verify port detection and SyncE clock status via ExtremeXOS CLI.
