Hanwha Vision SCU-2370 PTZ Positioning Camera Unit

Module Feature

SCU-2370 is an integrated heavy-duty outdoor PTZ positioning camera from Hanwha Vision (former Samsung Techwin). It adopts 1/4" Super HAD CCD II sensor, 600TVL color / 700TVL black-white resolution. It supports continuous 360° pan rotation, tilt range -85° ~ +40°, built-in precision encoder to maintain 0.1° positioning accuracy for up to 255 preset positions. ICR mechanical filter realizes true day-night switching, SSNRIII 2D+3D digital noise reduction improves low-light image performance. It supports motion detection, privacy masking and multi-protocol control including Pelco-D, Pelco-P, Samsung-T/E via RS-485 or coaxial Pelco-C. IP66 enclosure protects against rain and dust, widely deployed for factory perimeter, port, power station and large open area security monitoring. This model is discontinued.

Working principle

The pan/tilt motor assembly drives the camera head to rotate to target preset position according to control command from DVR or keyboard controller. The lens zooms to adjust field of view, CCD sensor converts optical image into analog CVBS video signal. Built-in DSP processes image, noise reduction and motion detection. Position encoder feeds back real-time angle to guarantee repeatable preset positioning.

Onboard components

CCD imaging sensor, 37x zoom lens assembly, pan-tilt servo motor set, position encoder, ICR day-night filter module, W-5 DSP image processor, surge protection circuit, OSD control board, communication terminal board, weatherproof housing and sunshade.

LED indicators

Front small LED indicates power status and alarm.

Hardware self‑diagnosis

Built-in self-check detects motor drive anomaly, communication signal loss and internal power fault, alarm information can be viewed through OSD menu.

Programming software

Security DVR / PTZ keyboard software for preset setup, patrol route configuration, protocol and baud rate adjustment.

Installation

Mount unit on solid bracket, keep sunshade on top. Run shielded coaxial cable for video, twisted pair for RS485 control. Set protocol, baud rate and camera ID via DIP switch. Calibrate preset positions after power on. Regularly check window glass for dirt and seal for water ingress.

Diagnostic

No PTZ movement: Wrong protocol or baud rate, control line open, motor drive fault. Blurry image: Lens window dirty, zoom mechanism stuck. Night image noisy: Low ambient light, SSNR setting improper. Preset position offset: Encoder drift, loose mechanical joint.
