Module Feature

R2015P644-3 is a 2-way characterised control valve from Kempston Controls R2015 series. It features precision contoured plug trim for near equal percentage flow characteristic, delivering stable modulation performance across partial load ranges. The valve body uses corrosion resistant material compatible with chilled water, hot water and glycol mixtures. It is designed to mate with electric modulating actuators for closed loop temperature control in heating, ventilation and air conditioning plants. It can be installed in bypass, supply or return pipelines of air handling units and fan coil systems.

Working principle

The actuator drives the valve stem and plug to vary the flow area between plug and seat. The specially profiled trim adjusts flow in a non-linear equal-percentage manner, so that a fixed change in valve stroke produces a consistent change in heat output. The valve modulates flow according to 0-10V or 4-20mA control signal from building controller.

No built-in indicator lamp. Position feedback status is provided by matched modulating actuator.

Hardware self‑diagnosis

Installation

Install in horizontal pipeline with actuator upright, follow flow arrow marking. Support pipework to avoid valve body bearing pipe stress. Fit strainer upstream. After assembly test for seat leakage. Replace packing and seat trim when wear causes leakage.

Threaded inlet port, threaded outlet port, actuator mounting flange interface.

Diagnostic

Continuous leakage at seat: Seat or plug surface scored, debris trapped between sealing faces. No flow modulation: Actuator linkage loose, stem jammed by mineral scale. Flow cannot reach maximum: Trim blocked by sediment, strainer clogged.
