Molex AFR-00340 Fiber Splice Cassette Unit

Module Feature

AFR-00340 belongs to Molex modular splice cassette product line.

It is pre-configured for 6 singlemode optical fibers, fitted with 3 sets of SC duplex adapters. It adopts hinged ABS plastic housing, built-in fiber routing ribs to maintain minimum bend radius, with dedicated space for fusion splice sleeves and slack fiber coiling. It can be stacked and installed inside Molex rack fiber enclosures, supports upgrade and reconfiguration, widely deployed in enterprise data rooms, telecom communication cabinets and industrial optical automation systems.

Working principle

Fiber pigtails pass through the adapter plate and connect with external patch cords.

The fusion splice joints are fixed inside the cassette, and surplus fiber length is neatly stored in the internal routing area. The cover shields splice points from dust, accidental pulling and crushing damage, stabilizing optical transmission performance for long-term operation.

Installation

Secure the adapter plate and splice holders inside the cassette.

Arrange splices and coil slack fiber following routing guides, close the cover, insert the cassette into fiber enclosure slot.

Diagnostic

High optical insertion loss: Fiber bent below minimum radius, splice offset or connector contamination.

Intermittent signal: Fiber squeezed by cassette cover, loose adapter fixing or pigtail crack.
