MWI8104LEA Process Transmitter Unit

Module Feature

MWI8104LEA is a smart loop-powered field transmitter for industrial process measurement.

It supports 4-20mA analog signal superimposed with HART digital communication protocol. It features stable signal output, reverse wiring protection and overvoltage protection. It can be configured remotely for range setting, damping adjustment and tag assignment. It is widely deployed in chemical, water treatment, pulp & paper and power process control loops.

Working principle

Internal sensing element captures physical process variable.

Electronic circuit converts sensor signal into standardized 4-20mA current signal, and embeds HART digital data for two-way communication with host system. DCS or PLC reads real-time measured value and diagnostic information through the HART bus.

Onboard components

Sensing element assembly, signal conditioning PCB, HART communication chip, LCD local display, cable gland terminal block, stainless steel or aluminum instrument housing.

LED indicators

Front LEDs indicate power status, active measurement, fault alarm and communication activity.

Hardware self‑diagnosis

Built-in supervision detects sensor drift, loop open, over-range and internal electronic failure. Fault codes can be viewed on local display or via HART host software.

Programming software

HART configuration tool, used for transmitter range setup, tag editing, trim calibration and fault troubleshooting.

Installation

Install with proper mounting bracket and avoid vibration and direct thermal radiation.

Connect two-wire loop power and signal cable, set measurement range and damping before commissioning.
