Module Feature

00H-0130-K0 is Phenomenex Rezex RCM-Monosaccharide Ca+2 (8%) HPLC analytical column. It adopts calcium-form ion exclusion stationary phase, specially designed for carbohydrate separation. It achieves reliable classification and separation of monosaccharides, sugar alcohols, disaccharides, trisaccharides and tetrasaccharides. Stable resin packing matrix, excellent reproducibility for sugar sample testing, widely applied in food, beverage, fermentation and bio-industry sugar composition analysis.

Working principle

Separation relies on ion exclusion and size exclusion mechanism. Analyte molecules interact with calcium ion stationary phase, different carbohydrates show different retention time according to molecular structure and solubility difference. Mobile phase flows through packed bed, components elute sequentially and are detected by HPLC detector to complete qualitative and quantitative analysis.

Installation

Flush HPLC system pipeline before installation. Connect column inlet and outlet following marked flow direction. Use suitable mobile phase to equilibrate column until baseline is stable. Do not exceed maximum allowable backpressure.

Diagnostic

High abnormal backpressure: inlet frit blocked or sample precipitate accumulated. Peak tailing or splitting: contaminated stationary phase or overloaded injection.
