Module Feature

S-271290 is factory assembled sealing spare designed for industrial process pump or valve equipment.

It integrates mating seal faces, O-rings, gaskets, sleeve and retaining hardware as a complete cartridge set. Wetted materials are selected for compatibility with oil, water and light hydrocarbon medium. It is pre-assembled and pre-checked for concentricity, reducing on-site assembly error. It can withstand medium pressure and shaft rotation friction, suitable for continuous operation under heavy vibration environment. It is widely stocked as maintenance spare for petrochemical, oil & gas and power plant process pump skid.

Working principle

The stationary and rotating seal faces form a narrow liquid film interface.

The liquid film provides lubrication and cooling, meanwhile blocks process medium leakage along the shaft. Secondary elastomer gaskets provide static sealing between seal cartridge and pump housing. Spring component maintains consistent face closing force to compensate wear and axial movement, preventing medium escape under fluctuating pressure.

Onboard components

Rotating seal ring, stationary seal seat, elastomer O-ring/gasket, compression spring set, drive pin, sleeve, lock screw, anti-rotation stop and hardware kit.

LED indicators

Not applicable. Leakage and abnormal condition are judged by local visual inspection and instrument drift alarm.

Hardware self‑diagnosis

No built-in electronic self‑diagnosis. Medium leakage and abnormal temperature rise are the main fault signs.

Installation

Isolate equipment and depressurize piping before replacement.

Clean pump chamber and shaft surface, align cartridge squarely, tighten lock hardware to specified torque, perform pressure test and check leakage after commissioning.

Interface

Shaft sleeve mating interface, pump stuffing box flange / thread mounting interface.

Diagnostic

Continuous medium leakage: Seal face wear, face damage or O-ring failure. Short service life: Dry running, improper flush plan or misalignment. Spring failure: Medium coking, corrosion or fatigue fracture.
