Schneider ACX-4-0080000 Access Controller Unit

Module Feature

ACX-4-0080000 is Schneider Continuum ACX network access control controller.

It is an intelligent door access panel, supports maximum 8 card readers, 12 universal monitoring inputs and 4 control relay outputs, equipped with dedicated tamper alarm input. It integrates 10/100Mbps Ethernet port, communicates with Continuum workstation for card database management, access schedule and alarm upload. It supports offline operation, keeps access rules and event logs when network is lost. This is legacy Continuum security series, widely stocked as maintenance spare for factory, office and data center access control cabinet.

Working principle

Card reader sends card credential data to this controller.

Internal CPU verifies card ID against local access rule database, judges whether to unlock door relay output. Input channels monitor door contact, request-to-exit button and tamper switch status. All access events, alarm records are stored locally and uploaded to Continuum host via Ethernet. When tamper signal is triggered, the panel locks relevant outputs and sends security alarm.

Onboard components

Main CPU board, reader interface circuit, universal input circuit, relay output drive, Ethernet communication chip, non-volatile event memory, real-time clock, status LED bank and metal enclosure.

LED indicators

Front LEDs indicate power, RUN, network link, reader activity, input trigger and system fault alarm.

Hardware self‑diagnosis

Built-in supervision detects reader communication loss, input circuit open/short, Ethernet disconnection, power undervoltage and internal hardware watchdog error. Configuration and fault diagnosis are completed by Continuum CyberStation software.

Programming software

CyberStation, used for access schedule setting, card credential management, I/O mapping, event log query and firmware download.

Installation

Power off controller before replacement.

Check 24VDC power wiring, reader Wiegand/OSDP wiring, door contact and RTE input wiring, confirm Ethernet network connection, download access database and test card unlock & alarm function after commissioning.

Interface

Reader terminal block, universal input terminal, relay output terminal, tamper input terminal, RJ45 Ethernet port.

Diagnostic

Reader no response: Wiegand wiring reversed, reader power missing or reader port fault. Cannot unlock door: Relay burnout, access schedule forbidden or card not authorized. Network offline: Ethernet cable damage, IP conflict or switch port fault.
