Module Feature

ATV61HD45M3X belongs to Schneider Altivar 61 series dedicated variable frequency drive for pumps and fans. Rated power 45kW (60HP), three-phase 200…240V AC input, IP20 cabinet mounting. It supports V/F control and asynchronous motor sensorless vector control. Built-in sleep/wake function, bypass management, anti-jam, overvoltage and overload protection. It has configurable analog/digital I/O, supports Modbus, CANopen and other optional communication cards. This model is discontinued, widely stocked as maintenance spare for water treatment, HVAC, district heating and process plant MCC cabinet.

Working principle

Three-phase AC is rectified into DC bus; main control unit outputs PWM pulses to IGBT power stage, generating adjustable frequency and voltage three-phase AC for induction motor. The drive receives speed command via analog signal, terminal or fieldbus. It continuously monitors current, bus voltage and temperature. When fault occurs, it locks output, records fault code and sends alarm signal to DCS/SCADA.

Onboard components

IGBT power module, DC bus capacitor bank, current sampling CT, main control board, removable graphic keypad, expansion option slot, cooling fan, status LED array and metal chassis with heat sink.

Hardware self‑diagnosis

Built-in supervision detects overcurrent, overvoltage, under-voltage, phase loss, over-temperature, motor overload and communication failure. Configuration and fault diagnosis are completed by Schneider SoMove software.

Installation

Cut off three-phase power and discharge DC bus capacitors before replacement. Match motor rated current and thermal setting, confirm shielded motor cable wiring, install communication option module if needed, test run, PID regulation and protection trip function after commissioning.

Diagnostic

Overcurrent trip: Motor short, cable damage, acceleration ramp too fast. Overvoltage alarm: Regenerative load, abnormal grid voltage. Overtemperature: Fan blocked, dust accumulation, poor ventilation. Communication trouble: Bus wiring open, wrong station address.
