Module Feature

ATV61HD45N4 is Schneider Altivar 61 series low overload variable frequency drive for pump and fan applications.

It adopts V/F control and sensorless vector control algorithm, optimized for quadratic torque load such as centrifugal pump, fan and air handling unit. It integrates level 3 EMC filter, cooling fan and power module. It has rich protection functions including overcurrent, overvoltage, undervoltage, motor thermal overload, phase loss and heatsink overheat. It comes with graphic local HMI keypad, supports Modbus-RTU and CANopen fieldbus for PLC/DCS connection. This model is end-of-life and discontinued, widely stocked as maintenance spare for water treatment, power plant and HVAC control cabinet.

Working principle

Three-phase AC power is rectified into DC voltage and stored on DC bus capacitors.

IGBT power modules chop DC bus voltage into adjustable frequency and adjustable voltage three-phase AC output to drive asynchronous motor. It adjusts motor speed continuously according to external analog setpoint or bus command, realizes energy saving for variable flow load. When abnormal condition is captured, it triggers freewheel stop or fast stop and outputs fault relay alarm signal. Fault codes and runtime data are stored in internal memory.

Onboard components

Three-phase rectifier bridge, IGBT power module, DC bus capacitor bank, current sampling CT, main control CPU, graphic HMI panel, cooling fan, EMC filter, status LED array, relay output terminal and metal housing.

LED indicators

Front LEDs indicate power ON, RUN status, fault alarm, communication link and heatsink overheat warning.

Hardware self‑diagnosis

Built-in supervision detects input phase loss, output short circuit, overcurrent, DC bus over/under voltage, motor overload, fan fault and communication timeout. Fault diagnosis and parameter commissioning can be completed by SoMove software.

Programming software

SoMove, used for motor parameter setting, acceleration/deceleration ramp, protection threshold, fieldbus address and fault log reading.

Installation

Isolate three-phase main power before replacement.

Reserve upper and lower ventilation clearance, check input and output wiring, set motor rated parameters, test local start/stop, analog speed control and fault relay output function.

Interface

Three-phase power input terminal, motor output terminal, DI/DO analog FTA terminal, Modbus / CANopen communication port, HMI panel port.

Diagnostic

Overcurrent alarm: Motor locked rotor, cable short circuit or acceleration time too short. DC bus overvoltage: Regenerative load, grid surge or missing braking unit. Communication lost: Bus wiring error, terminal resistor missing or station address conflict.
