Schneider VDICD42524L Actassi Fiber Optic Cable Unit

Module Feature

VDICD42524L is a loose tube single-mode optical fiber cable of Schneider Actassi series.

It contains 24 OS2 9/125μm optical fibers, compliant with CPR-D fire classification. The loose tube structure isolates optical fiber from mechanical stress and moisture. Dual-purpose design supports both indoor and outdoor laying. It is widely used for industrial network, data center and building backbone communication.

Working principle

Light signal transmits inside the core of single-mode optical fiber by total internal reflection.

The outer loose tube, aramid yarn and outer sheath provide mechanical protection and moisture isolation. The optical signal carries network data for long-distance transmission between switches, servers and industrial control equipment.

OS2 single-mode optical fiber, loose buffer tube, water-blocking material, aramid tensile yarn, outer LSZH protective sheath.

Hardware self‑diagnosis

Test fiber attenuation and continuity by optical time domain reflectometer. No local adjustment function.

Installation

Avoid sharp bending and excessive pulling force during laying.

Route cable along pre-planned path, terminate fiber with splice box or patch panel, test optical attenuation after commissioning.

Diagnostic

High attenuation: Excessive bending, fiber crack or dirty connector end face. No light transmission: Fiber breakage inside cable. Signal unstable: Poor fusion splicing quality.
