Module Feature

SIM2000-0A20A00 is a programmable edge sensor integration machine from SICK SIM2x00 series.

It is designed to collect and process signals from multiple industrial sensors including 2D/3D LiDAR, code readers, RFID devices and photoelectric sensors. Equipped with quad-core PowerPC CPU, 2GB RAM and 512MB flash storage. Integrated FPGA handles high-speed I/O and fieldbus communication. It executes custom vision and measurement applications developed on SICK AppSpace. Widely stocked as automation spare for logistics, packaging and machine vision stations.

Working principle

Sensors connect to the controller via Ethernet, IO-Link or serial interfaces.

The onboard processor receives raw sensor data and runs user-defined algorithm programs for inspection, measurement and identification. Process results are transmitted to PLC or upper MES/SCADA through industrial communication protocols. The built-in diagnostic circuit continuously monitors sensor links and controller runtime status.

Onboard components

Quad-core PowerPC processor, RAM, flash memory, FPGA I/O controller, multi-channel Ethernet switch, IO-Link master, digital I/O terminal bank, status LED array and aluminum die-cast housing.

LED indicators

Front panel LEDs indicate power, run, link and fault status for each communication channel.

Hardware self‑diagnosis

Internal circuit monitors power supply, network connection, sensor channel status and runtime application health. Configuration and programming are completed by SICK AppStudio.

Programming software

SICK AppStudio, used for application development, sensor parameter setup, network configuration and diagnostic log reading.

Installation

Cut off 24V DC power before replacement.

Mount unit on DIN rail, connect power supply, sensor network and I/O wiring, deploy AppSpace application, test sensor communication and output logic after commissioning.

Interface

24V DC power terminal, multiple Ethernet ports, IO-Link master port, digital input/output terminals, serial and CAN ports.

Diagnostic

No sensor link: Network cable failure, IP address mismatch. Application crash: Program error or insufficient memory. Controller fault alarm: Power supply fluctuation or hardware damage.
